We have encountered some really challenging conditions over the past few weeks, but certainly the walks that stand out and are the most memorable are those done in extreme conditions! Battling the elements, we have endured the lot! But there’s nothing quite like the feeling of being ‘in it’ and powering on ‘through it’. So, why do we do it? What makes us shake off those waterproofs, wrap up warm and step away from the warmth of home?

Nordic Walking is a walking technique that uses poles that has been adapted from cross country skiing. LEARN TO NORDIC WALK COURSES this month
Come and join us and learn how to really master the techniques of Nordic walking, understand propulsion and how to gradually increase the workload. These sessions are relaxed and fun – but very effective! Book now to ensure your place to learn how to Nordic Walk and you will receive your first two walks with us for free. The cost of the whole course is £30 for all the sessions.

NORDIC WALKING CONVERSION COURSES
This concentrated session is for people who have Nordic walked before but who have maybe never received structured tuition from a NWUK qualified instructor. If you do not feel that you need to attend a tuition course, come along for a 1.5 hour session in which the instructor will ask you to demonstrate your technique and work with you to ensure that you understand the current NWUK teaching methods. Upon completion of the course and assessment of techniques, the FREEDOM Passport will be issued to each participant enabling you to book on any NWUK walks nationwide. Next course dates:

EXTRA WELL BEING WALK Friday 16th March at 10am
This session will focus on all aspects of physical and mental well-being. Strength, fitness, flexibility, core strength and even a bit of mindfulness will all be incorporated to give you an hour of fun and functional exercise.
Ideal for those with concerns about either distance, pace, rehabilitation or certain medical conditions. These gentle walks will be just what you need to build up your confidence and improve your health. Balance, co-ordination and strength exercises will be incorporated.
Come for a Gear 1 walk on 16th March at Eaton Park at 10am and give it a go! Booking is essential!
